Lied about his age to join the RFC, before being comissioned as a pilot. Regt no's are 317471 and 103563. 5 Cadet Wing - CFS Upavon from 22/6/18, No.3 Flt. Great Britain, Royal Aero Club Aviators’ Certificates, 1910-1950 has a photo of him 15th Sept 1918 with a number of 7578 Birthdate matches.
