Periscope for Review

Hi,

What is the purpose of this periscope which measures 11 inches in length? It is unmarked, its leather pouch is stamped "Central Leather Good Limited Toronto 1915"

and with a Canadian Broad Arrow. Being that short I doubt it would be used in trenches. Thanking you all in advance and hoping to hear from some of you very soon.

Regards, juno-44

The design of some periscopes was terrible. A number of different models were this size. There is even a prismatic model with a focus adjusting ring, about 3 inches below the upper lens.

Some were very cheap. Like this one that clipped on the bayonet.

Looks about the right size for a periscope Rifle set up.  The dovetail on the side suggests a Gun Mount.
