Remembered Today:

Which German destroyer was sunk at Zeebrugge 23 May 1918?

I have just read newspaper reports of the sinking of a German destroyer at Zeebrugge on 23 May 1918 by being bombed from the air by the RAF. I'd like to connect this up with a Distinguished Flying Medal awarded to a British air gunner/observer, as his citation refers to such an event but gives no specifics. Some of the missing pieces are the name of the destroyer and the precise location and time. I'd be grateful for any leads.

The Times is irritatingly coy about the name, but the second of these does at least give you a precise location:-

Could it be V 74, damaged by an explosion in Zeebrugge Harbour on 25 May 1918? It was later scuttled in Brugge on 3 October 1918.
