Aurel Sercu Posted 18 January , 2005 Share Posted 18 January , 2005 Thanks Paul (R.), Or maybe this. - If starting from Ypres. - Find the beginning of the Canal Ypres - de IJzer. It's approx. 700 meters north of the town centre. - Do NOT go to Boezinge (the village) ! - Keep on the right (= east) bank of the Canal. Name : "Oostkaai" - After 3.2 km (2 miles) : turn right into the "Bargiestraat", into the industrial estate. (There are 2 signposts Yorkshire Trench and Dugout) - Follow it for 400 meters. And there you are. Good luck. Aurel P.S. Paul (the first Paul) Actually it's not that far from Essex Farm, in a straight line. But Essex Farm Cem. is west of the canal, and Yorkshire Trench is on the east side. And there is no bridge across the canal. Not anymore that is. There used to be one. But that was in times that were a lot unsafer. 90 years or so ago. And reserved to infantry men...
