Lt. Wilfrid Hulme KLR 13/14th November 1918

In memory of Lieutenant Wilfrid Hulme, King's Liverpool Regiment, who died of pneumonia resulting from influenza at Colchester Military Hospital on 13th/14th November 1918 aged 22. Served on the Western Front as a private soldier with 19th Royal Fusiliers 1915-16 and as a subaltern with 1st Kings (Liverpool) Regiment 1917. Both of his brothers died in the war: Lance Corporal George Hulme, also 1st KLR was killed at Arras in April 1917, Lt. Clarence Hulme MC, RFA, died at Havrincourt in September 1918.George and Wilfrid had both been pupils at Bury Grammar School. 

Wilfrid is buried in St Margaret's Churchyard, Prrstwich. His daughter Vivienne Wilfrida Hulme was born on 17th November 1918.
