Essexboy68 Posted 17 January , 2005 Share Posted 17 January , 2005 Hello My great - grandfather, who served with D Coy 6th Buffs (East kent Regt) was brought home by the above - mentioned Hospital ship after being wounded on 13 Mar 16, presumably during the action at Hohenzollern Redoubt (I may not have spelt that correctly). His record, which has survived, shows he was transferred to Depot on 20 Mar 16. I was just wondering if anyone has any info or photos on this vessel, such as it's pre & post war history etc. Sorry, but I am not an expert on any of this...... Many Thanks in advance Mark

bartbandyrfc Posted 18 January , 2005 Share Posted 18 January , 2005 Mark, According to his service record my granddad Archie was evacuated to England on the same ship (HS St Denis) on 18 Sep 1916 after he took sick with nephritis while at the Somme. It must have been a busy vessel! Regards,
