hmsk212 Posted 17 January , 2005 Share Posted 17 January , 2005 Hi At the weekend I picked up a Victory Medal to an Officer. Using the on-line Medal Index Cards there are 4 officers listed with the same initials and surname. I have eliminated 2 due to the wrong rank given for their medals this leaves me with 2 possibilities. One is Army, killed in action and the other is RAF, MM winner. Can any pals please advise me as to whether or not the Royal Air Force added RAF on the medals after the Rank , Initials and Surname of their Officers. If they did then the medal belonged to the kia Army Officer. Cheers Steve
GavinH Posted 17 January , 2005 Share Posted 17 January , 2005 Steve, Medals to RAF Officers do have 'RAF' impressed after the name. I don't know of any exceptions. Regards Gavin
