bif Posted 10 November , 2018 Share Posted 10 November , 2018 Dear Friends of the GWF, On this most special and historic date, I ask you to please bring to mind and your prayers the following Seaforth men: Blyth, Hugh, Pte 8453, KIA 1 July 1916 on the Somme Rayne, James Alexander, Cpl s/6050, died of wounds 24 April, 1916, Kut al Amara Thornhill, John Evelyn, Maj (bvt Lt Col), died from illness,2 October 1918, Gibraltar and also Anderson, Geroge M, Cpl, 10359 Bullimore, George, DCM, A/Cpl, 238096 Davidson, Duncan, Pte, 1084/265093 Dearie, Patrick, Pte, 3440/S1864 Gardner, Harold,S, 2277/200508 Haggie, William, Pte, 6478 Hunter, Peter, Pte, S6012 Hutcheson, William, Pte, S23061 McDonald, John, Pte, 10540/2809122 Peeples, Hew W, Pte,203023 Reid, Andrew,DCM, Sjt, 1392 Reid, George, Pte, 7645 Robertson, Rodericck, DCM, CSM, 2269/S10887 Shankley, Alexander, Pte, 2708/300910 Taylor, Albert, MM, Sjt, 10224/2809113 And finally, my maternal Great Uncle, John Warcznski, US Army, younger brother of my Mother's Dad. Gassed in 1918. Sent home to fully recover only, to lose both his mother and younger sister to the Great Influenza within weeks of his return. He suffered a complete mental collapse following their funeral and was confined to a veterans home.
