And finally, my maternal Great Uncle, John Warcznski, US Army, younger brother of my Mother's Dad.  Gassed in 1918.  Sent home to fully recover only, to lose both his mother and younger sister to the Great Influenza within weeks of his return.  He suffered a complete mental collapse following their funeral and was confined to a veterans home.  He remained in a near vegetative state for the next  50 years out living his father, siblings, and many of his nieces and nephews.
