Jervis Posted 17 October , 2018 Share Posted 17 October , 2018 I was watching Andrew Marr's BBC documentary - Darwin's dangerous idea. Inevitably he touches on WW1, but an interesting aspect. Marr tells the story of Werner Kellogg a well connected US foreign aid worker who dined with the officers of the German high command most nights. Werner a pacifist was shocked at the extreme social Darwinist theories of the German Officers. Kellogg wrote a book of his experiences which was used in the US to lend support for declaring war on German. Kellogg's book 'Headquarters nights' is available free online here: Headquarter nights
