The King's Medals

I probably assumed that King George V would have received war medals, but while searching Ancestry for the Medal Roll for a George *****

I stumbled on the one below. He also qualified for a 1914/15 Star. ('Regiment'   Commands and Staff)

It is good to see that they picked a clerk with a good hand to write the king’s name.

That raises the question - were the clerks entitled to any medals or were they civil servants?

(Sorry for a slight diversion)

Good question, but if they served overseas then I would have certainly thought so?
