Marilyne Posted 23 September , 2018 Share Posted 23 September , 2018 Gents & Ladies, We were just talking in another thread about high viz jackets being mandatory in the car ... something else that popped up on the news yesterday and might become an issue, although there is much discussion and right now it's only in Flemish Brabant, not yet in the Westhoek. Some communes have noticed that their quiet street is being used by people who use the application WAZE to get out of the morning traffic and get to their destination quicker. That is why some communes have put up camera's that recognize car plates and if that plate does not belong to somebidy living in the street and is passing a bit too often, then those people can be fined. the access to some roads is also restricted to non inhabitants between certain hours. Now of course some lawyers already protested because it's infringing on the right of people to use roads as they see fit, but still... discussion ongoing, just be aware.. for now it's Steenokkerzeel and Kampenhout, but other cities are following and cameras are going to be placed until the end of the year. un voyageur averti en vaut deux!!!
