I enjoyed 'Enigma' by Robert Harris. It's a personal opinion, but I thought it was well written and had a good plot. No doubt someone on the forum will have hated it!

Das Boot by Lothar Gunther Bucheim

To be really lazy, you could just pop down the video shop and hire the full 6-show mini series. After all, reading is stupid. Or maybe knowledge is power. :D

I liked Enigma.

"Flight of Eagles" by Jack Higgens requires no thought to read, so it might be what you are looking for.

"The Eagle Has Landed," Jack Higgins.

"Battle Cry" by Leon Uris

"Tarzan and the Foreign Legion" by E.R. Burroughs. Not as good as his seminal WW1 "Tarzan Untamed", but a good read non-the-less.

I refuse to give titles to a spoiled brat who thniks reading stupid and who cries out, after waiting all of 8 or 9 minutes: COME ON. I NEED TITLES!

Look them up yourself, punk!

Regardless of the merits of this request, surely this thread is Utterly Off-Topic and should be moved accordingly?

Aren't you being just a little harsh? Surely you can find it in your heart to recommend some light reading? Perhaps 'War and Peace'?

Fred is Dutch, I am Flemish.

And yet we agree.

On this. ;)

The boy is in desperate need of titles.

I think he is in need of something else.

Good manners.

And not being 16 yet is no excuse.

Unfortunately 'Crime and Punishment' is not a WW2 novel.

(Like Fred a grumpy old man. ;) )

Aurel,

You naughty YOUNG Fleming! You shouldn't have told him that CRIME AND PUNISHMENT is not a Second World War novel! WAR AND PEACE, of ourse, is.

All the best,

  • 4 weeks later...

Patience is a virtue.

It still is after 7 minutes and 51 seconds.

It also is after 25 days.

One excuse : reading books takes time.

Even if reading is stupid.

Thankyou for those few kind words :P

Folks this is what happens when you give a bit of independence to these goddamn colonials. They come back and abuse their elders and betters. Not that I'm much older than Paul.

Cheers pal :D
