GavinH Posted 13 January , 2005 Share Posted 13 January , 2005 I enjoyed 'Enigma' by Robert Harris. It's a personal opinion, but I thought it was well written and had a good plot. No doubt someone on the forum will have hated it! Regards Gavin
Halder Posted 13 January , 2005 Share Posted 13 January , 2005 Das Boot by Lothar Gunther Bucheim To be really lazy, you could just pop down the video shop and hire the full 6-show mini series. After all, reading is stupid. Or maybe knowledge is power.
marc leroux Posted 13 January , 2005 Share Posted 13 January , 2005 I liked Enigma. "Flight of Eagles" by Jack Higgens requires no thought to read, so it might be what you are looking for. marc
Paul Hederer Posted 13 January , 2005 Share Posted 13 January , 2005 "The Eagle Has Landed," Jack Higgins.
marc leroux Posted 14 January , 2005 Share Posted 14 January , 2005 "Battle Cry" by Leon Uris "Tarzan and the Foreign Legion" by E.R. Burroughs. Not as good as his seminal WW1 "Tarzan Untamed", but a good read non-the-less. marc

Fred van Woerkom Posted 14 January , 2005 Share Posted 14 January , 2005 Garth, I think War and Peace an adequate punishment for one so young and insolent. All the best, Fred
Aurel Sercu Posted 14 January , 2005 Share Posted 14 January , 2005 Fred is Dutch, I am Flemish. And yet we agree. On this. The boy is in desperate need of titles. I think he is in need of something else. Good manners. And not being 16 yet is no excuse. Unfortunately 'Crime and Punishment' is not a WW2 novel. Aurel Sercu Posted 7 February , 2005 Share Posted 7 February , 2005 Patience is a virtue. It still is after 7 minutes and 51 seconds. It also is after 25 days. One excuse : reading books takes time. Even if reading is stupid. Aurel
