temptage Posted 5 September , 2018 Share Posted 5 September , 2018 Does anybody have any information on this man, Lieutenant Commander George Frederick Knox, RN Retired? I have walked past his grave many times but I only noticed his name last week. The only thing I have found about him was that he was given a Commission on 14th December 1915 on his 30th birthday. Can anyone find anything out about what ships he served on etc etc

The link horatio2 gave you above leads you to an amazing 4 pages of tightly written detail on this officers short career. The National Archives (TNA) have made their digitised collection available to download free of charge subject to you registering an account and also abiding by their Terms and Conditions ........ so you can access this material without the watermark once registered. It's rare that such detail appears and it should give you all the info you seek in one place.
temptage Posted 16 January Author Share Posted 16 January Yes, thank you. When that link was posted, pre-Covid, it wasnt free to download from TNA, so couldnt see what details the files provided. Interesting to see he served in both wars, albeit land-based in WW2.
