Very interesting Frev, thanks for posting. I suspect that Hilda Butler was working at a factory in Coventry just up the road from where she was married. A quarter of all aircraft  in manufactured in the UK during war came from there.

Thanks Terry - I'll make a note of that possibility - I'm guessing that would be the Coventry Ordnance Works?

It could have been any number. The bigger ones were Daimler, Siddely Deasey, Standard and Humber. There were also umpteen firms turning out components.
