Compo Posted 13 January , 2005 Share Posted 13 January , 2005 Aaron, Iron Division is an excellent book but it does not deal day to day like a War diary and covers the period 1809 to 2000 in 241 pages. The period you asked for would be covered by the following passages: "3rd Division continued in the forefront of the fighting in 1918, halting the German offensive at La Bassee in April, and taking part in the ultimate advance to victory. In the last six weeks of the war the Division sustained over 4,000 casualties, showing that the final days were as hard fought as any. The reward came on 15 November when the Division crossed the Rhine and entered Cologne as part of the forces of occupation." Rgds, Bill
