Young_dirk Posted 4 August , 2018 Share Posted 4 August , 2018 Hi, I'm doing research into my great grandfather, Lieutenant Robert Andrews (MC) RCAF, and I've seen pictures and documents of awards and medals he had earned. I'm looking for trustworthy sources to purchase replicas (or genuine) medals and awards from to add to a family heirloom/military collection. Any suggestions or thoughts? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Admin DavidOwen Posted 4 August , 2018 Admin Share Posted 4 August , 2018 Hi and welcome to the forum Being on a similar quest for the original medals it is not an easy task. However you may wish to post in the "Seeking family medals" section of this forum http://www.britishmedalforum.com/index.php you never know you may strike it lucky. Good luck David
chaz Posted 5 August , 2018 Share Posted 5 August , 2018 search on ebay, you can save an alert and they will send daily warnings of similar items. you might get lucky. problem is your grandfather could be in a collection already especially if an MC, so for time being check his entitlement and buy copies. Pierce09 Posted 5 August , 2018 Share Posted 5 August , 2018 for good copies/replacements, I'd recommend Worcestershire Medal Service. https://www.worcmedals.com/full-size-medals-and-emblems/campaign-medals/1st-world-war good luck hunting for your GGrandfather's medals. As DavidOwen stated, the British Medal Forum can give some excellent advice on where to look and how to search for his medals. Also, Medal Tracker is a good tool. https://www.tokenpublishing.com/medaltracker

I ended up going this route and purchased copies of his medals and they are beautifully done. Here they are, along with some of my other wartime replicas.
