Remembered Today:

7th Meerut Division RAMC

I know this is a long shot yet again, but this morning while browsing the NMP booklist, I came across the War Diary of the 7th Meerut Division Medical Services.  I have all the various Battalion, Division and Corps Diaries, but not their medical diaries.  As my grandfather served with the 1st Seaforth from their landing in France until he was wounded and sent home, (according to family lore) I wondered if the War Diaries might possibly provide any information about specific casualties.  When he returned to the front it was with the 8th Seaforth and, according to the information I have,(which could be incorrect) it was not until 1917. That is a long time to be in Britain for an experienced NCO, but I do know he was at the Depot in Cromarty for part of this time.

Guess that is rather a long winded way of asking if anyone has any knowledge of what would have happened to Meerut Division wounded on the battlefield, and if any records exist.

Thanks,

Hazel C
