ddycher Posted 10 July , 2018 Share Posted 10 July , 2018 All Real wild card but does anyone know if a permanent detachment from the Multan garrison was kept at Muzaffargarh ? I know if was a frequent camping ground but have been unable to determine if it was actually a detachment. Would appreciate any insights. MaureenE Posted 10 July , 2018 Share Posted 10 July , 2018 In 1929 there was " a military encamping-ground where the troops in Multan usually halt while doing annual training". https://archive.org/stream/in.ernet.dli.2015.105625/2015.105625.Punjab-District-Gazetteers-Muzaffargarh-District-Vol34#page/n323/mode/2up page 308 Punjab District Gazetteers Muzaffargarh District Vol.34A Cheers Maureen
ddycher Posted 11 July , 2018 Author Share Posted 11 July , 2018 Many thanks Maureen. Great data point. I show Muzaffargarh being used as a training ground for territorials from Multan late '14 and early '15. Trying to find out more about the place.
