In doing some research on 201242 Pte. Charles H. ORR I came across his records which state he was not eligible for medals.  He enlisted 12 Oct 15  sent overseas  and was subsequently killed in action in the trenches of Hill 70 on 19 Aug 17.  His mother was issued with Memorial Cross..has anyone come across a situation similar to this, would not he or  NOK  be eligible to receive the medals??

Just to clarify robins2:

We are talking about:

Private   ORR, CHARLES HENRY

Service Number 201242

Died 19/08/1917

Aged 22

3rd Bn.
Canadian Infantry

Son of William and Marion Orr, of Coldwater, Ontario.

Could you post a link to his service record where it stated he is ineligible for medals?

I think you may have misread his record

Not Eligible for Star                  (he joined the Bn in the field 9/10/16 therefore not entitled to a Star)

      Eligible for V.M

      Eligible For B.M.W
