Guest cheshire_blue Posted 9 January , 2005 Share Posted 9 January , 2005 I was wondering if anyone could help me identify what these 4 cap badges are. They are from a collection from my late grandfather, the rest of the collection is labeled aside from these. Thank you in advance Andrew

Guest cheshire_blue Posted 9 January , 2005 Share Posted 9 January , 2005 Thank you very much, they seem obvious now but I didn't want to label then incorrectly.
7t2ndswinger Posted 9 January , 2005 Share Posted 9 January , 2005 Andrew, The Leinster's badge is quite rare as they amongst other Irish regiments were disbanded in 1922. If the badge at the rear has some 'sweat or blow holes' ie hollows between the whitemetal backing and brass overlays to the coronet and scroll it is more than likely a genuine badge. It looks to be in very good unpolished condition and if the slider and loops are intact a nice piece to have. Keith
