Sgt Stripes Posted 17 June , 2018 Share Posted 17 June , 2018 (edited) Hi, Can anyone confirm if the Serbian emblem pictured is official? Thanks Edited 17 June , 2018 by Sgt Stripes
BullerTurner Posted 17 June , 2018 Share Posted 17 June , 2018 I don't believe so. The medal statute only allows for the 2 palms and 3 stars, which usually are seen on the ribbon and indicate the level at which the award was made.
Sgt Stripes Posted 17 June , 2018 Author Share Posted 17 June , 2018 (edited) Thanks for your reply. I have only ever seen two other Croix De Guerre's with this emblem on. If added was it a way of showing that the person the medal was awarded too wanted to show he served in Salonika. KGB Posted 17 June , 2018 Share Posted 17 June , 2018 The metal doesn't look as old as the Croix de Guerre.
ForeignGong Posted 18 June , 2018 Share Posted 18 June , 2018 There was a very large contingent of French troops in Salonika, this maybe how the recipient let the population know that is where he was awarded his CdG.
