terryb95 Posted 27 May , 2003 Share Posted 27 May , 2003 My grandfather served in India and was a civilian in 1914, He went to the Western Front 5Oct 1914 with 7 Siege Bty RGA, (The ORs marched into the unit on the 4th Oct 1914 from the coastal forts) age 29 so I would assume that he would have been in the reserves, Where would I find records about the reserves, his service records, what age would he have been when He inlested in the Army for india (he served in artillery) I have one other question relating to his father who was born in India in 1855 and is shown on the 1901 census as born in india English Subject, did the soldiers (not Officers) have wifes with them and how would I findout more information about him.
