I am the author of the book Wherever the Firing Line Extends: Ireland and the Western Front and the maker of this documentary United Ireland; How Nationalists and Unionists fought together in Flanders.

The film tells the story of the Irish involvement in the battles of Messines Ridge and Passchendaele and particularly how nationalists and unionists fought together.

It was made with the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Ireland, the Imperial War Museum and Visit Flanders.

I have exhibited at the Western Front Association in Dublin and Belfast and the Combined Irish Regiments in London.

It is now generally available on YouTube to view.

It is an important story in Irish history and needs to be told.

Thank you will watch tonight. My great uncle died at Messines. Always interesting to see more attention to this battle.
