Remembered Today:

A souveneir from Salonica.

This nicely made miniature 'kukri', is as can be seen inscribed 'Salonica 1916-19'.

Made of brass and around 2-5/8"/67mm overall, the hilt is layered brass,

copper, steel and some form of red stone.  The Gurkha's were certainly active in this

theatre of war, has anyone seen one previously?  It was found in a box of odds

at an antiques fair, was black with age, and had probably not been cleaned

since it was made.
