JMB1943 Posted 20 May , 2018 Share Posted 20 May , 2018 (edited) 5th Batt, And very nice it looks too, but you always do show high-quality bayonets/scabbards/rifles.....! I have an 11 '18 (my "Armistice Bayonet"), and like yours it shows a broken C and very weak right arm of the V in the CV trademark. Awaiting full-length photos to see if the fullers have a considerable taper at both ends. Would also appreciate an accurate weight, if possible. Regards, JMB Edited 20 May , 2018 by JMB1943 Add info

Regards, JMB Here are some photos of the blade from the seller, will post better ones when it arrives, which should be tomorrow or Wednesday, my scales only go to Within 0.05 of a gram, hopefully that will be accurate enough Edited 20 May , 2018 by 5thBatt

5thBatt Posted 23 May , 2018 Author Share Posted 23 May , 2018 Well it arrived this morning, weather a bit crappy here at the moment so these photos will have to do for now, bayonet seems to have remains of brown paint or caked on grease. Weighs 490.85g
JMB1943 Posted 23 May , 2018 Share Posted 23 May , 2018 5th Batt., The ricassos and cross-guard have certainly retained their bluing better than your first one! As a matter of interest, do they the same/different inspectors ? Also, do the Vickers turn up often down-under ? Regards, JMB

Regards, JMB The top & right ones do appear to be the same crown over 9C over E the bottom left on both are to hard to make out, the new one i might be able to make out after a clean. Eta looks like its crown over 1K over E I have seen only 5 Vickers come up for sale, the two i have, 2 out of the late Ian Rasmusen collection & a real poor condition one on TradeMe, i only know of 2 others in collections, Mole manufactured '07s is other story, only ever seen 3 of those come up for sale & i own 2 of them. trajan Posted 3 June , 2018 Share Posted 3 June , 2018 5th Batt, seems like you are akin to me with my S.98/05 passion! But you only have Moles and Vickers to find - there are over 30 varieties of S.98/05's around, and let's not get into years of production! On the plus side, I do have the best collection known to anyone of the rare unaltered Greek Y.1903's, including the rarest of all, a Naval version... RGJDEE Posted 9 February , 2019 Share Posted 9 February , 2019 speaking of Moles, whilst digging around the online auction catalogues I was lucky enough to unearth this example along with a Remington. both happily are in the collection.
