Hi would any body know the citation of an award for the MM.That was awarded to Sapper 66875 henry stamper. 182rd tunnelling company. or where I might obtain it.

Hi Martyn,

 

Unfortunately, as a record collection MM citations no longer exist. You might find some reference in the unit war diary . He appears to have been gazetted on 17th June 1919, so you are probably looking for something at the tail end of the conflict. If you weren't to find anything, the stock advice is to look at local newspapers on the off chance that they carried some kind of report.

I agree with Chris. 1919 medals were quite often presented at the Town Hall by the Mayor or another local dignitary. There is a good chance of a report which may contain a description.
