vickers Posted 7 January , 2005 Share Posted 7 January , 2005 I have been researching my father Pte Leonard Arthur Page,8th bn MGC. He was listed as Missing in Action on 27th May 1918 and was then a POW in Merseberg ,Germany. Would anyone have any detailed descriptions of the actions the 8th division would have been involved in at this time as i would like to try and get a rough idea of where my father might have gone missing. Any details would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Chris

David_Blanchard Posted 25 February , 2005 Share Posted 25 February , 2005 I have just finished a thesis on the Aisne Battle. Both my grandfather and great uncle were captured on the 27th May 1918. I have some information on the 8th Division. Contact me off forum and I will sort out what I have. Regards David

Petroc Posted 5 March , 2005 Share Posted 5 March , 2005 Dunno if this is any use, but check out online and other resources for activities of British IX Corps (21, 8, 25 & 50 Divisions) on the Aisne, particularly the last stand of the 2nd Devons at Ville au Bois/Pontavert
