Remembered Today:

Naval Hospital near South Queensferry

Can anyone tell me the name of a RN Hospital in the parish of Abercorn ( West Lothian) near South Queensferry. The name of the hospital begins with R, but I could not make out anything else.

(I was working in Scotlandspeople yesterday and took a couple of minutes off to satisfy my curiosity. A number of Jutland casualties who died after reaching port ( and hospital) are buried in Queensferry church yard including a Queen Mary survivor.  Some if not all died at R???? RN Hospital.)

That's very likely it. The right number of letters and either a double t or tl in the middle and r or w at the end.

Thank you.

There was an RN Sick Quarters at Queensferry even before the Great War but I think that was in the dockyard, so Lawryleslie's deduction looks good to me.

The dockyard is on the north shore of the Forth in Rosyth, Queensferry (more correctly South Queensferry) is on the south shore.  North Queensferry is next to Rosyth but I don’t know of a hospital there.  I don’t know if that helps or hinders.
