Arras Accomodation

I have used the Holiday Inn Express a couple of times in the last year. It is clean and comfortable but like most modern hotels, soulless.

A few years ago we stayed at Le Manoir, Gavrelle. It had a very good menu and the rooms were top class. Looking at the web page it seems they have spent money on the old building. If I was going to the area again I would certainly book there. Always difficuit to make recommendations due to expectations. cost etc.  One criteria we look for is a Logis listing and I see it still has that.

Gosh, my memory is clearly on the blink.  I have stayed in Le Manoir a couple of times this year and it's very good.

IIRC there is a Novotel (or possibly a Mercure) at one end of the main square by the railway station. I have stayed there a couple of times and it's OK.

In the town there is l'Univers, an 18th century building. It's a bit of a maze inside but quite comfortable and the food is very good. It used to be a seminary and one of its students was Maximilien Robespierre.

Outside the town, near the airport, there is a very modern hotel, the Hotel du Golf, which is next to a golf course. The food is reasonable and the rooms are comfortable, but I don't know what the prices are like.
