dickaren Posted 19 April , 2018 Share Posted 19 April , 2018 I have not stayed in Arras for many years and a friend has asked for advice on where to stay. Any recommendations? Richard
Gareth Davies Posted 19 April , 2018 Share Posted 19 April , 2018 I have used the Holiday Inn Express a couple of times in the last year. It is clean and comfortable but like most modern hotels, soulless.
kevmc Posted 19 April , 2018 Share Posted 19 April , 2018 A few years ago we stayed at Le Manoir, Gavrelle. It had a very good menu and the rooms were top class. Looking at the web page it seems they have spent money on the old building. If I was going to the area again I would certainly book there. Always difficuit to make recommendations due to expectations. cost etc. One criteria we look for is a Logis listing and I see it still has that. Gareth Davies Posted 19 April , 2018 Share Posted 19 April , 2018 Gosh, my memory is clearly on the blink. I have stayed in Le Manoir a couple of times this year and it's very good.
simond9x Posted 20 April , 2018 Share Posted 20 April , 2018 My wife and I stayed at L'Olivier, a lovely B&B run by a very friendly couple. Also 'dog-friendly'. 1, Rue Jean Jaurès, Saint-Laurent-Blangy, 62223, France https://www.booking.com/hotel/fr/l-39-olivier-saint-laurent-blangy.en-gb.html?aid=340580;label=postbooking_confemail;sid=93a81c9754953178d8645b5cc06623ca;dest_id=-1466514;dest_type=city;dist=0;group_adults=2;hapos=1;hpos=1;room1=A%2CA;sb_price_type=total;srepoch=1524214693;srfid=d583afde42cd0b99ebb8843b22c5db179ff3d114X1;srpvid=1aad3f11e1b90136;type=total;ucfs=1&#hotelTmpl

Ron Clifton Posted 24 April , 2018 Share Posted 24 April , 2018 IIRC there is a Novotel (or possibly a Mercure) at one end of the main square by the railway station. I have stayed there a couple of times and it's OK. In the town there is l'Univers, an 18th century building. It's a bit of a maze inside but quite comfortable and the food is very good. It used to be a seminary and one of its students was Maximilien Robespierre. Outside the town, near the airport, there is a very modern hotel, the Hotel du Golf, which is next to a golf course. The food is reasonable and the rooms are comfortable, but I don't know what the prices are like. Ron
