I have been looking for opening times for Trench of Death. One source says they are only open weekends from Oct 1 to Mar 31 but Western Front - North, Battlefield Guide says weekdays only 12 Nov to Sept 30th.

I will be going March can anyone confirm opening times for me please and save me a phone call to Belgium?

Thanks

John

It is daily open from 1 april till 30 september from 10H till 12.30H and from 13H till

17.30 H.

From 1 october till 15 november The same opening time, but not in the weekends. You have to enter at least 1/2 H before closing time.

Free entrance!

I hope this helped!

greets,

As you noticed it is indeed closed from 16 november till 31 march...

so that will not be possible. But you can see a lot of it just walking on the riverbank, next to it.

Thanks for your help.

It looks like I will have to give it a miss as it was at weekend I was hoping to visit. I have been before but the group I am going with haven't, and I don't think they would settle for a walk round the outside.

Why not visit the Ysertoren instead? I certainly enjoyed my visit even though most of the information is in Flemish. Which is hardly surprising.

Thanks for suggesting Bayernmald, it is on my list.

You are right that there are many things and places to see, our trip will be pretty comprehensive and is usually enjoyed by all.

Garth

Thanks for your suggestion. Never been to Ysertoren.

? may not be too interesting for youngsters, particulalry if they cannot read what displays are about.

I will try a web search for more info.

Once again thanks to you both for your advice.

Regards

John
