charlie2 Posted 11 April , 2018 Share Posted 11 April , 2018 The Württembergische Landesbibliothek Stuttgart http://digital.wlb-stuttgart.de/suche/ and SLUB Dresden https://www.slub-dresden.de/startseite/ are in the process of digitizing more German Regimental histories. The links are in place but only lead to a message requesting a bit more patience as the histories are still being digitized but will be available shortly. Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 11 April , 2018 Share Posted 11 April , 2018 Dear charlie2, Thanks for that interesting information. Fortunately I have, together with the EKI, and EKII and Zähringer Löwe group of medals to my wife's maternal grandfather (Ltn. d. R. Rudolf Schneider), his signed and annotated copy of "Reserve-Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr. 66", von Wilhelm Groos (1922). Ltn Schneider is even shown in one of the small Officer Group photos. The book also has a useful chart, indicating the numbers of various decorations won by members of the Regt. The trouble is, despite my ability to speak and read German, I find the Fraktur-Schrift hellishly difficult to decipher - which takes all the fun (if one can use that word about a work dealing with the Great War) out of it. Kindest regards, Kim.

AOK4 Posted 20 June , 2018 Share Posted 20 June , 2018 Should I start considering to bring my library to the recycling park? Nothing beats a fast look into a real paper book whenever I need some information though...

NO WAY --- I agree the book is by far the best - But they are very difficult to find - and those which do turn up are very expensive. Also I have seen that several maps are missing from this online version from the back section, No Skzzie 21 etc.

Oh yes, the maps are often missing in the books. I also have to ask sometimes a fellow collector whether he has the maps. Jan
