suesalter1 Posted 30 March , 2018 Share Posted 30 March , 2018 How's this for admissions/discharges from hospital! Researching a friend's ancestor, he was eventually discharged from the Canadian forces with epilepsy. Wonder he was accepted at all considering he had suffered from the condition since he was 14. Medical board turning a blind eye? Sue
tullybrone Posted 30 March , 2018 Share Posted 30 March , 2018 Hi, I haven’t looked at his full record at LAC Ottawa but note he was posted to Canadian Forestry Corps which may indicate there was some official concern about his health? Not the usual posting for a Plumber? Steve
Chris_B Posted 30 March , 2018 Share Posted 30 March , 2018 His full record has been digitised at LAC Ottawa: http://central.bac-lac.gc.ca/.item/?op=pdf&app=CEF&id=B4371-S027 In hospital in Epsom, Surrey at one time. Said to have had only 4 epileptic episode between ages of 14 and 19. Papers need careful reading and he appears to have two sets of attestation papers one on 1916 and another in 1917. suesalter1 Posted 30 March , 2018 Author Share Posted 30 March , 2018 Thanks for this. Only found some of his record as Ancestry has a free weekend for Commonwealth countries over the Easter weekend. 84 pages of records! If only the British records survived to this extent. Solve a few more of my own mysteries. Sue
