Jim,

According to Salford Pals the memorial to the Salford Battalions (1/7th, 2/7th, 3/7th, 1/8th, 2/8th, 3/8th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th, 21st) was unveiled facing the 'Crescent'.

There are two LF memorials, the Great War memorial (as described by Blackblue) is located on the crescent, in the square in front of the entrance to Salford Police Station. The LF South Africa War memorial is not far away opposite the old Salford Royal Hospital (now converted into flats). Thanks Neil
