Eran Tearosh Posted 22 February , 2018 Share Posted 22 February , 2018 As mentioned in previous threads, the Israeli Postal Service honored the centennial of the Great War by a series of 4 stamps, each one dedicated to the 4 years of the war (excluding 1914, that had very little effect on this part of the world). the initiative started from The Society for the Heritage of WWI in Israel, mostly by Avi Navon, former chairman of the society. The Israeli Postal Service embraced this initiative, and the Israeli Government approved. Each of the 4 stamps honors a year, a nation and a event/topic. I assisted here and there, mostly on the 2016, 2017 & 2018 stamps. Earlier this month the 4th stamp of the series was released, honoring 1918 centennial, Indian Cavalry and the capture of Haifa: More details in here (Hebrew & English): alon WWI in Eretz Israel Centenary.pdf Eran
