Hi Peter,

I cannot seem to find it either.

Although CWGC records an MM, SDGW do not. (neither does his MiC)

Regards,

Graeme

Only one MIC listed on the National Archives for that combination of name and number, did he have any other service on his medal roll entry or even pre-War service?

Thank you to all who have replied, there does not appear to be another MIC Card or record.

The local newspaper announcement of his death also stated he was awarded the MM

  • 2 weeks later...

Just bumping this up in case anyone may be able to find anything.

Apparently Forces War Records state conferment of the medal was announced in the London Gazette (no date given)

Thank you

Peter

There is a John Wm Cooper killed same day, 5KOYLI. Wonder if this is where confusion has arisen. He is MM.
