I am looking to solve a 100 yr+ mystery?  Can anyone help me determine whether E.F.Chadwick - Royal Engineer (Newark) 89571 - Enlisted 8.4.15 Discharged 27.7.17 was the same person as Edward Frederick Chadwick born Cheetham, Manchester 18 March 1895? How might I find out - can anyone give me any clues or point me in the right direction? Thank you.

The number 89571 belongs to Edmund T. Chadwick, Royal Engineers, according to his medal index card, so they are not the same person.

There appears to be two medal cards with the same number - one a Edmund T Chadwick & the other a E.F. Chadwick?

I think it's a transcription error.

 Edmund Thomas Chadwick has a surviving service record on FMP showing he was discharged due to a GSW, his MIC on Ancestry is marked discharged but has no notation for a Silver War Badge.  He was B. 1895 and at time of enlistment was living in Walthamstow.

 The MIC for E.F. Chadwick is for the SWB only.
