Guest Posted 17 February , 2018 Share Posted 17 February , 2018 (edited) Heading over to France/Belgium and London with a couple of friends touring Battlefields, museums and memorials this coming April 2018. Wondering if there is any small private museum collections a person can visit? Will be in Normandy, Verdun, Arras and Ypres areas. Have all the major ones planned. If you have any contact information, email, address, etc. Much appreciated! Edited 17 February , 2018 by Guest
EAST YORKSHIRE Posted 17 February , 2018 Share Posted 17 February , 2018 Hello there, Avril Williams has one at her place in Auchonvilliers which is just south of Arras, WW1 and WW2 if I remember correctly, Ian.
sdparker Posted 17 February , 2018 Share Posted 17 February , 2018 Hello I can recommend De Dreve bar at Lange Dreve 16, Zonnebeke Ypres. This is run by Johan Vandewalle who is involved in many underground explorations and burial locations. The bar is situated next to Polygon Wood, and has a museum on the first floor Regards Geoff

ServiceRumDiluted Posted 18 February , 2018 Share Posted 18 February , 2018 Not quite a private museum but more an open air excavation, but Main de Massiges at Massiges in the Champagne is an essential visit. Not like anywhere else, excavated section of front line restored to how it was with all the (safe) artifacts in situ. Definitely worth seeing before it starts to get overgrown and plundered.
