sotonmate Posted 12 February , 2018 Share Posted 12 February , 2018 (edited) Brian If you want more detail there is a service file at Kew, these are not yet digital so need a look in situ: http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C1145716 At time of death he was attached to 2/4 Battalion KOYLI on day 1 of the Battle of Cambrai (the Tank attack). This Battalion War Diary names the officer as killed, along with 6 others died and 7 wounded, plus 211 OR casualties. The attack was successful, with the support of 3 wire crushing and 8 fighting tanks attached to the unit.
