Picture shows a Major sitting with NCOs who I believe are probably instructors with 46th Division. Cap badges are Foresters, Lincs, Leics and Staffs.

What I would like some help with please is the meaning of the brassard/

armbands worn by the NCOs low down on the left sleeve. The letters are ?M, PS and a chap in the back row has the letter G.

Also, two of the men appear to be in a possibly pre-war scarlet uniform?

Any thoughts and possibly a date would be welcome. Thanks
