Unidentifed disc / I.D Tag ? help please

I have just come across a disc / or some sort of I.D tag that I have had for many years.

It is made of metal, with a hole in the top for a cord maybe ?

Written on one side is the following -

MSM LISTER

8

W.Q

M.Q TS

WING BK

I found it with a metal detector whilst based at Bulford Camp - which would explain the Wing BK (Barracks ? )

I am at a bit of a loss as to what the rest could mean.

Any ideas / help would be much appreciated

Kindest regards

Brett

Not sure, but it appears to be an address (or the name of a store or something?) ....

M.S.M.  Lister                 Mechanist Sergeant Major* Lister (?)

8, W.Q.                              8, West Quadrant

M.QTS.                             Married Quarters

WING BK                           Ward  Wing Barracks (Bulford)

Possibly a key ring of some sort or, maybe, genuinely a 'dog tag' (ie for dogs!)

Dave.

* not too sure on this, but I think it was a Warrant Officer grade uniquely for the Royal Engineers from the 1920's/30's (then again, MSM could simply be the chap's initials!)

Brilliant stuff, I think that you are bang on the money with your interpretation.  I suspect it is the fob from the key to MSM Lister’s married quarter at Wing Barracks.  ID tags were often misused/re-purposed (depending on point of view) as key tags even in much more recent times.

Made a slight error (now corrected) ... 'Ward' and 'Wing' were both barrack names at Bulford and I erroneously typed the wrong one!
