BeppoSapone Posted 2 January , 2005 Share Posted 2 January , 2005 I have just been looking at the Cemetery details for Ireland's Grangegorman Military Cemetery, and was struck by how many soldiers date of death was given as 10th November 1918. On the first page alone 9 out of 20 names given died the day before the war ended! Anyone know what happened? My best guess would be some sort of a train crash or ship wreck, but does anyone know? Terry Denham Posted 2 January , 2005 Share Posted 2 January , 2005 Do you mean 10.10.18 rather than 10.11.18? This was the sinking of the 'Leinster'

Of course I should have put 10th October 1918. Now off to read up on the 'Leinster'.

oak Posted 10 January , 2005 Share Posted 10 January , 2005 BeppoSapone, The discussion on the R.M.S. Leinster is on the "Ships and Navies" section of this Forum. The topic is headed "R.M.S.
