stuart rowles Posted 31 January , 2018 Share Posted 31 January , 2018 Thomas Estcourt Rowles served with the 6th Regiment, African Infantry during WW1 (1914-15 star trio) and previously in the Queenstown Rifle Volunteers during the Boer War. He died on 5th November 1917 and was buried at Queenstown cemetery. I have a picture of his headstone. He is also commemorated on the Durban Cenotoph and on the Queenstown War memorial. When I obtained a photo of the Queenstown Memorial I was horrified to find some of the panels have been stolen. And of course the panel containing the name of Thomas was one of them. There are some sick people in this world. Trying to find a picture before the attack is proving impossible.
