4thGordons Posted 28 January , 2018 Share Posted 28 January , 2018 Can anyone suggest the nationality of these gentlemen? There is nothing on the back of the card (it is a divided back postcard with lines for an address and a square for a stamp. No photographer's mark or anything else. The photo was in among a small lot of German cards I wonder if they may be POWs? (although there are no armbands or such)

FROGSMILE Posted 28 January , 2018 Share Posted 28 January , 2018 The man on the left is wearing the very distinctive Serbian Army Field/forage cap that I do not think was worn by any other Army.
4thGordons Posted 28 January , 2018 Author Share Posted 28 January , 2018 Thank you all. My initial reaction was Serbian/Balkan of some description but I was uncertain precisely as to why - I suspect the cap Frogsmile identifies although I wondered too about French as there seems to be a fairly broad range of shapes/styles in French forage caps of the period. I did like the double breasted cardigan too! Thanks all, I will file under Serbian! Chris
