Is there a typo here? "Continuous food service? Should it be "foot service"?

"79811 Pte. P. Dixon, 29th Bn., Durh. L.I. (Hull). . ' " For marked gallantry and continuous good service during, September, October and .November, 1918, during the advance to the River Scheldt. As a company runner he has successfully delivered important messages under very dangerous and trying conditions. At Comines. especially, on at least three occasions, .he delivered messages under very heavy fire."
