12th Lancers - Moy 1914

I have been doing some research into the 12th Lancers and the charge at Moy on August 28th 1914.  Im aware that the charge was carried out by C Squadron and was wondering if there was a list of officers who took part in the charge, Im particularly looking for Lieutenant  Leatham who was KIA on October 31st 1914 by a shell.  I have consulted the war diary and cannot see anything which states if Leatham charged of was in A or B Squadron who were on foot providing fire.

Help is appreciated

Regards

Richard

1st Troop - Lt RST Moore, 2nd Troop Lt DH Richardson, 3rd Troop Lt RS Wyndham-Quinn, 4th Troop Lt JH Leche. Captain JC Michell was OC C Squadron and was killed in the charge. Michel was 2 i/c when C Squadron mobilized, he took command after Major PJ Bailey accidently shot himself in the leg on 23 August 1914. Wormald & Bryant, as CO and Adjutant, were not part of C Squadron. They charged with Ptes Pacey & Nolan (Orderlies) & Trumpet Major Mowlam; Pacey's horse was killed, Nolan was killed & Mowlam was wounded in the thigh and subsequently captured. Bryant went to the RFC (18 & 23 Sqns) and earned a bar to his DSO, ending his secondment as a Temporary Lt Col RAF. He remained a substantive Captain and returned to 12L as adjutant. Moore's medals are in the 9th/12th Lancers' Regimental Museum collections at Derby, as is the sword Bryant carried in the charge and Leche's sword.

Leatham was in A Squadron which engaged the Germans dismounted, the action being as per the Cavalry Manual: engage with rifle fire & then use shock action.
