There is quite a detailed description of life at Gough Barracks, Trimulgherry in the 1930s by David Clarke who wrote a series of article in Regimental Association of The Queen's Own Buffs (PWRR): The Journal Issues 12, 13, pages (12)29-39; (13)15-25. thequeensownbuffs.com His time in India as a Boy Musician from age 15, with the 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment in Gough Barracks in the cantonment of Trimulgherry, and time spent at Wellington in the Nilgiri Hills.
