Gardenerbill Posted 9 January , 2018 Share Posted 9 January , 2018 7216 Private Ernest Bedingham served with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers 1900 until 1905 when he was discharged as medically unfit due to his mental state (I have his service papers). I can find no evidence to suggest he served in the Great War, however in 1916 he was 28 years old, as a former soldier would he have been medically re-assessed? tullybrone Posted 9 January , 2018 Share Posted 9 January , 2018 Hi, IMHO All depends where he was living in or after 1916... If in England, Scotland & Wales he would likely have been subject to conscription and been medically examined at some stage but as no conscription in Ireland no need for medical.
