Great Bircham Norfolk War Memorial

I am researching all the names on our village war memorial on behalf of the Parish Council.  There are 18 names in total and I am a varying levels of research on each. One serviceman, J M Osborne, born 1885, is quite fascinating.  He was recorded on the 1911 census as being in India with the Northumberland Fusiliers.  His number was 848.  He enlisted in Hunstanton, Norfolk and the regiment went to India in 1906  I assume he joined prior to that. I am desperate to find out when he enlisted.  He subsequently died of wounds in September 1918 in France. Can anyone out there help with his enlistment date?
