MIC Assistance

Dee

Recommended Posts

Have just downloaded my first MIC from the NA and to be honest it doesn't look right.

Could anyone please point me in the right direction as I have absolutely no idea what this means.

Many thanks in anticipation

Harry

Many thanks for that, it is all very strange to me having never come across this before.

To be honest, i'm not even sure what an Unpaid Acting Farrier Serjeant's job even was, i've never heard of an unpaid acting soldier. I do have a copy of the attestation papers and it certainly doesn't mention this...

Acting unpaid was and still is a widely used practice. If he was a substantive paid corporal he could be promoted sergeant to fill a vacancy but while remaining on a corporals pay. He could put up 3 stripes and enjoy the sergeants privilidges but could be reverted to a corporal at any time.
