I couldn't find this when searching the forum so thought I should signposts them:

Planning War before 1914

Thinking about war before 1914

European Society and War

The Changing Nature of European War Between 1815 and 1914 (expert contributions and panel:  Professor Chris Clark (University of Cambridge); Professor Margaret MacMillan (University of Oxford); Respondents: Professor Holger Afflerbach (University of Leeds); Professor Lieven (University of Cambridge); Dr Annika Mombauer (The Open University); Professor David Stevenson (LSE); Professor Thomas Otte (University of East Anglia))

There may be little that is known to some Old Sweats, but I found the  European Society and War talk interesting in its overview to the status of soldiering and the changing role of civilians/women particularly interesting; The Changing Nature of European War Between 1815 and 1914  ( (includes a useful overview to European geopolitics by Lieven).
